Stalin followed Vladimir Lenin’s ideology about centralism and a strong party of "professional revolutionaries". After Lenin’s death in 1924, he rose to become the leader of the Soviet Union. By 1928 Stalin’s supremacy was complete. From this year, he could be said to have exercised control over the party and the country.
Stalin launched the command economy. Five-Year plans were announced and it began a period of rapid industrialization and economic collectivization. There were accounts of big dams built, large factories going up, widespread industrialization, big collective-farming projects. Free schools and hospitals were erected everywhere.
However things do not end here. The shadow of World War II threaten the world.
Despite a non-aggression pact with Germany, Hitler invaded the Soviet Union in 1941. Under Stalin’s leadership, the Soviet Red Army put up fierce resistance. The Germans reached the outskirts of Moscow in December, but were stopped by an early winter and a Soviet counter-offensive.
At the battle of Stalingrad in 1942-43, the Red Army was able to regain the initiative of the war. With military aid of their allies the Soviet forces were able to regain their lost territory and push their over-stretched enemy back to Germany. From the end of 1944 large sections of eastern Germany came under Stalin’s Soviet Union occupation and on May 2, 1945, the capital city Berlin was taken.
The game follows a rate based economy. This means, units are built while consuming resources at some rate. Production also happens at some rate. When production and consumption are at the same level, everything goes fine. If the production rate is higher than the consumption rate, then the extra produced resources can be stored in storage units. On the other hand when the production rate is lower than the consumption rate and there are no stored resources left, the functioning rate of the consumers is decreased in order to match the rate of the production.
Often you’ll need to gather some resources first. Therefore use a worker or an engineer to harvest some energy from the trees or ore from the rocks, construct some generator buildings (power plants and oil refinery) and prepare yourself to further attacks by building some defenses.
