Chipset Drivers for Windows XP and Windows Vista based Sony VAIO VGN-Z790 Notebooks:-
1. Intel Chipset Driver 8.7.0.1007 for Windows Xp: This utility installs the Intel Chipset Driver for Windows XP operating system. This driver also resolves the yellow exclamation point error that may appear in Device Manager next to "SM Bus Controller" which indicates that a driver is not installed for that device.To ensure that no other program interferes with the installation, save all work and close all other programs. The Taskbar should be clear of applications before proceeding.
2. Intel Chipset Driver 8.6.0.1007 for Windows Vista: This utility installs the originally shipped version of the Intel® Chipset Driver. This driver also resolves the yellow exclamation point error that may appear in Device Manager next to "SM Bus Controller" which indicates that a driver is not installed for that device.
Installation Instructions:
- To ensure that no other program interferes with the installation, save all work and close all other programs. The
- Taskbar should be clear of applications before proceeding.
- Download the INDOTH-00147588-64.EXE file to a temporary or download directory (please note this directory for reference).
- Go to the directory where the file was downloaded and double-click the INDOTH-00147588-64.EXE file to begin the installation.
- At "User Account Control" click "Continue".
- At the "Chipset Driver (Intel)" screen, click "Next".
- At the "License Agreement" dialog, read the agreement, then, if you agree, click "I Agree" to continue with the installation.
- At "Welcome to the Setup Program" screen click "Next".
- At the "License Agreement" dialog, read the Intel Chipset Device Software License agreement, then, if you agree, click "I Agree" to continue with the installation.
- Read the "readme" file then click "Next".
- Wait for the Setup Progress is finished and click "Next".
- At the "Setup is complete" screen select "Yes, I want to restart this computer now" then click "Finish".
