At CES this year, ASUS did not give all the details on one of its most unique betting. Now we can know almost all the specifications of the new ASUS PadFone X, thanks to the U.S. carrier AT&T that has released it. This company will handle distribution in EE.UU. which will be released initially. No surprises as to what we were expecting but at least we have confirmation.
As you know, this is the last generation of convertible tablet phones company in Taiwan. Basically, we have a regular phone that you can slide in a tablet with a dock. Then all contents of the phone and its capabilities are shifted to a larger screen but with optimized conversion, thanks to DynamicDisplay technology. And with this step we also get extra battery, more connectivity and storage.
The phone has a 5-inch screen with full HD resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels. Its thickness is 9.98 mm and weighs 150 grams. The dock has a tablet or 9-inch screen with a resolution of 1920 x 1200 pixels. It has a thickness of 11.6 mm and a weight of 514 grams.
Inside the phone we have a Snapdragon 800 chip with quad core Krait 400 to 2.3 GHz processor and Adreno 330 GPU. This is accompanied by 2GB of RAM and comes with an Android 4.4 Kitkat operating system.
The internal storage of 16 GB, which can be enlarged with the help of an additional 64 GB microSD card.
The connectivity networks on this smartphone is based on WiFi 802.11 AC and LTE mobile networks. Also, enjoy local connection via Bluetooth 4.0.
As far as cameras are concerned, the phone comes with a 13 megapixel Pixelmaster rear camera and a front 2 MPX camera. The latter is replaced when the phone is assembled in tablet by 1 MPX.
The smartphone has a 2,300 mAh battery. Meanwhile, the dock brings a 4,999 mAh battery support. With it, we can not only lengthen the autonomy of the set but can also charge the phone.
