Caterpillar develops computer and electronic equipment for outdoor occupations. Recently, the company offers massive angular and smartphones, but offering unsurpassed resistance to the potential dangers of use in an insecure environment. B15 is the first Android mobile phone from Caterpillar. Now the company has launched its successor called the B15Q, under the Android KitKat environment.
The Caterpillar Cat B15Q smartphone has a 4-inch WVGA (480 x 800) screen. It comes with MediaTek MT6577 chipset (quad-core 1.3 GHz) accompanied by 1 GB of RAM, 4GB of internal storage (expandable via microSD) and 2000 mAh battery (removable). 5 megapixel sensor and VGA video sensor are also there. Compatibility with 3G, Bluetooth and WiFi n 4 are also placed. This technical specs is similar to the predecessor (except the new chipset and two times more RAM). All led by Android KitKat operating system.
It is obviously in the specifications of the cover that needs to go to find the value of CAT B15Q. The phone is IP67 certified and is therefore protected against dust and water (immersion up to 1 meter for 30 minutes). It also has the 810G military certification that supports vibrations Class 4 and withstands temperatures between -20 and +55 degrees Celsius, falling 1.8 meters. In addition, the screen is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass and it works even with wet hands in the rain. With all these protections, the CAT B15Q is obviously heavier and thicker than the average 170 grams and 14.95 mm.
No price is yet given for this smartphone, but a period of availability is set in the month of summer.
