Micromax has announced the upcoming availability of other cheap phablet powered by Android, called the Canvas XL A119 smartphone.
This smartphone will be available exclusively in India through an online shop called Homeshop18 from January 19. Potential customers should be aware that the Micromax Canvas XL A119 will be available for purchase for just Rs. 13,990 without contract.
Also noteworthy is that this phablet is only available in white color but Homeshop18 could offer some accessories worth Rs. 6,498 rupees along with it.
This huge phablet offers dual-SIM support and is marketed under the Android 4.2 Jelly Bean OS. Micromax could offer an upgrade to 4.3 Jelly Bean or perhaps KitKat, but so far has not confirmed anything.
Aside from its affordable price, the strength of Canvas XL A119 is its 6 inch IPS LCD touchscreen with a resolution of 540 x 960 pixels.
In addition, the smartphone is equipped with a quad-core processor running at 1.3GHz, probably related to MediaTek chipset. It also has 1GB of RAM and 4GB of internal memory which can be expanded via a microSD memory card up to 32GB.
As the name also suggests, Micromax Canvas XL A119 is a big phone, measuring 165 x 84.2 x 10.4 mm and weighs at 180 grams with the battery included.
The phablet has a rear 8 megapixel camera with LED flash, auto focus and support for video recording, while at the front it has a camera of 5 megapixels.
Other highlights of the phone include 3G and Wi-Fi connectivity, along with Bluetooth and GPS, audio plug of 3.5mm, FM radio with recording feature.
Finally, the Micromax Canvas XL A119 is powered by a 2,450 mAh battery that should provide up to 9.5 hours of talk time.
