SimBust Folder Manag...

SimBust Folder Manager is a simple yet, robust application that works with Windows Explorer and allows you to quickly open folders you have previously visited.

SimBust Folder Manager doesn't try to fix above shortcomings with its own file manager; instead it works with Windows File Explorer. Therefore, you will have these additional functionalities in addition to already reliable features that Windows File Manager provides:

  • Remember folder history across multiple instances and sessions. You can incrementally search folder name and quickly open the folder you visited recently with just a few keystrokes.
  • Remember Explorer window's size and position. Explorer window will always show up at the same position and size as it was previously used.
  • Intelligently ignore folders that are only used for passing. For example, if you navigated to "C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Google" from C:\ root folder, all following intermediary folders will be ignored.

  • Assign shortcut keys to favorite folders so that they can be opened even quicker way.

Directory Linker 1.1...

Directory Linker is a small Winforms application that allows the user to quickly and easily create Symbolic Directory links in Windows Vista and Windows 7. (Note XP is not supported)

The process for creating a symbolic directory link for a folder that already exists is a bit clunky, you have to:

  1. Create the target
  2. Copy any existing content to the target
  3. Delete the folder you want to be a link
  4. Start cmd.exe and then enter the mklink command along with the full paths of the folders you want to link

DirLinker helps with this, it is very basic UI that allows you to enter where you want the link and where you want to link to. You can just delete the link place or copy the contents over first. Use these options at your own risk, I will not be held responsible for any data loss.

Requirements:

  • Vista or later (It has been tested on Vista x86 and Win7 x64)
  • .NET 3.5
  • Admin rights

Erase Free Space 3.3...

This script uses Eraser 5.86a or 5.8.8 to securely erase all of the unused space on C. Eraser is a free program available for download. The script checks for Eraser's presence before running and does a single pass of pseudo-random data. It can be modified to run any algorithm in Eraser and logs the results. Results of the run are logged to the user temp folder in a file labeled wksAutoITscript_logfile.txt. Erase Free Space does not work with Eraser 6.0.6 which does not have documented command line features as of this writing.

This is useful for scheduling a late night maintenance window and can add another layer of security when used with Deep Freeze.
