Address Book Server ...

Address Book Server allows you to share your contacts and calendar events with others connected to your network or over the internet. Each participants synchronizes their contacts with the server hosted on your own system. Address Book and Calendar Server supports the full Address Book and iCal Schema. The server also provides a friendly web interface which you can use to access your contact details when you not on your Mac. There is even an iPhone client which accesses the contact details on the server directly for when you on the road.

With Address Book Server you can synchronise your Address Book with others on the same network as well as over the internet. Contacts are synchronised with your own instance of Address Book Server.

Address Book Server comes in two parts a server and a client. The server should be installed on a centrally accessible Mac. The client goes on every Mac, whose Address Book you would like to synchronise.

During synchronisation contact information is fetched from the ABS server, compared with the local content, and any changes are written back to the server. Changes made via Address Book are synchronised in real-time with the server. Other clients will be brought up-to-date during their next synchronisation. This can either be done by making a change to one of their contacts, manually via System Preferences or on a schedule.

With Address Book Server supports 10.4 (Tiger), 10.5 (Leopard) on both Intel and PowerPC. It also does not require any subscription or charges. Upgrades have so far been free, which is a trend we will try to continue going forward. Take control of your contacts today on your existing investment.

Address Book Dates is a plug-in for viewing birthday and other date-related information from within the Mac OS X Address Book application. Address Book Dates quickly shows the age, astrological sign, and Chinese Zodiac for contacts in the Apple Address Book and lets you know how long it is until their next birthday or anniversary. Also, it will navigate in iCal to the contact’s birthday and any other custom dates.

Osmo is a handy personal organizer, which includes calendar, tasks manager, address book and notes modules. It was designed to be a small, easy to use and good looking PIM tool to help to manage personal information. addressbook2pine 1.4...

Addressbook2pine is a utility that allows you to sync your OS X address book with pine's addressbook. Simply launch addressbook2pine and it will process all of your contacts in your address book and create a tab delimited file readable by pine.

Addressbook2pine can also take all contacts in a pine .addressbook file and import them into OS X Address Book. Each successfully converted contact is then automatically added to a group within OS X Address Book labeled "addressbook2pine" for easy tracking purposes.

Upon detection, Address2pine will extract from each contact of Address Book: name field (first, middle, last, and suffix), email(s), company/organization, and notes. Regardless of whether the card is checked as "company" or not, Addressbook2pine will set pine's nickname field to the card's company/organization name.

LIMITATIONS :

We released DayChaser with the intent of giving users an easy-to-use calendar. However, trying to keep up with iCal or Google Calendar, both free applications, is a losing battle. DayChaser is a calendar/appointment application intended for use by one user on one Mac. These days, most users need their personal information available to them on multiple devices and they need to connect with other users to share and merge appointments and contacts. DayChaser is unable to do this. So keep in mind that DayChaser might be right for you if:

You have all versions of a document. An attachment reference always points to the exact document which was referenced (not an updated version of the reference). Once Ace is installed and configured, your valuable data which Ace references is stored exclusively in a folder on the installation server. You can then restrict read from and write to access for that folder to just the Ace users or as you wish.

MailMergeApp is an AppleScript Studio application that makes it amazingly simple to create 'merged' mailings. The single greatest thing about this application is that it uses the Mac OS X Address Book as your contact list, so your mail list is already complete. When you launch the application it asks the Address Book what groups you have configured and allows you to chose them from a popup menu. It does the same with Mail.app for your 'send from' accounts.
