There are three type of keyboard layout in Galaxy Note 3. You can instantly switch from one to another from the keyboard directly. This help you to type mroe faster.
Step 1: Tap and hold the key between Sym and Space bar.
Step 2: After few seconds you can see a additioanl menu. From there tap on the keyboadr icon next to settings. Choose the layout from Normal, Floating and One Handed.
