WD My Passport Wireless 1TB is an portable external hard drive. It comes with 20hours of battery backup and offers you up to 6hours of usage time. The battery is average here. Sometime you might not be able to figure out what is the amount of battery life in the hard drive. For that you have to check the Battery light indicator which is also the power indicator. WD My Passport Wireless 1TB only charges through the power adapter that comes in the package. You cannot charge it through your pc or laptop usb. In this short guide I will show you the battery indicator status. The power light changes color on the basis of battery life left.
When you connect the drive to charging the first power light glows up. This also turn on when you are using the drive. Below is the led light colors on which basis you can identify the amount of power left.
- Blue – 90% or above
- Green – 50-89%
- Orange – 20-49%
- Red – 8-19%
Blinking white – Boot-up or USB mode activity or SD card transfer activity
