Norton Ghost 2003 is a power ful Windows
backup and restore software. Here I will list you a very easy way by
which you can restore your entire system back along with your data, software and games. You does not need to reformat you Windows again and
install everything one by one back again. Norton Ghost 2003 runs in GUI
mode, so it is not neccessary for your to learn the command line option
also.

Minimum System Requirement for Norton Ghost 2003.

  • Windows 98 / XP.
  • DVD RW.
  • Rewritable Blank Disc.
  • Minimum 256 Mb of RAM.
  • Pentium 4 Processor. Even lower will work.
  • Norton Ghost 2003 Installation Disc.

Install Norton Ghost on your system. Then follow the below instructions :

After Installation you can see a small icon on your system tray. See
the picture below. Right click on it and then select Backup your
    computer. Then click on Next

Then click on the hard drives partition which you want to back up. You
can either choose only C: for Windows back or entire partitions. Norton
Ghost by default will select all your partitions. The entire files will
be copied on a disc. So remember if you have a a large data then you
will need more DVD's or CD's. Click on Next. Norton will restart your system.
Insert a blank disc. After restart Norton Dos window will loads up and starts the back up process. Norton Ghost creates a clone image of
entire hard drive with partitions. In this click on Browse
and select the location of your DVD Drive. Give a name and then click
    on Next.

Each time in does Window it will ask you the disc if need. The windows
will show up you the time and the size of disc image file. The DVD is a
bootable disc. So whenever you face any virus issue or system crash
just insert the DVD and boot from it. Ghost will run in Dos mode and
restore your entire Windows till the date you had created back up. One
thing you must notice that always create a back disc after fresh
installation of Windows. Because if you have any virus or any system
flaw then that will be restore again. So a fresh and clean installation
will do the work. In my system the Ghost DVD load ups my Windows, Ms
office, Nero, Antivirus, some games, data files, etc.

The above screen is the Dos mode screen of Ghost when it restarts and
starts creating a back up of your computer. The same screen appears
when you use the restore process also. Ghost creates easy to use
bootable disc. This bootable disc contains the entire drivers and other
software's in it. So even if you do not have any set up file Ghost Disc
restores it back again. The same utility can be run in GUI mode also by
browsing the utility column of Ghost.

Second thing if you do not have a DVD RW then you can create the back
up in either in the pen drive or in a different partition. Ghost saves
the files in the form of ISO image. This ISO image can be burned using
    Nero or any other burner.
