Verizon Released HTC Imagio Windows Mobile 6.5 powered smartphone

Today Verizon released HTC Imagio Windows Mobile 6.5 powered smartphone device. The device, HTC Imagio, is exclusive to Verizon again that comes with TouchFlo interface.

The HTC Imagio appeared previously as the HTC Whitestone, when there were rumors that the unit would come out with Verizon and now have been confirmed. The Imagio offers mobile television and that is almost unique. Mobile television is controlled by means of V Cast, a mobile television service that is run and managed by Verizon.

The Imagio has a 528MHz processor, one that HTC usually ends up with its phone. There is also a support for HSDPA, GPS and Wifi. Both GSM and CDMA networks are supported by the device, so in theory it could also come from Europe. The device has a screen of 3.6 "and a Resolution of 800×480 pixels.

The Imagio is confirmed for sale only in America under the Verizon banner. It is still unclear that if the unit will come to the Netherlands or Europe. HTC Netherlands refuses any comment on whether the unit in the Dutch Windows Mobile 6.5 launch will be present. The unit is going to be released on October 6 in the U.S. Verizon stores, for $199.99 with a 2-year agreement, after a $100 mail-in rebate that comes in the form of a debit card. The Imagio will be available in Verizon Wireless retail locations starting on October 20.
