Orange CI and RIM Launch the BlackBerry Solution

Orange CI and Research In Motion (RIM) today announced the launch of the BlackBerry solution for Orange CI customers in the Ivory Coast. The BlackBerry solution brings together smartphones, software and services, to allow easy wireless access to email, phone, calendar, web, multimedia and other business and lifestyle applications. Customers in the Ivory Coast will now be able to enjoy the freedom and productivity benefits of using BlackBerry smartphones to stay connected to people and information on the go.

At launch, Orange CI will offer the BlackBerry® Bold™, BlackBerry® Curve™ 8900 and BlackBerry® Pearl™ 8120 smartphones.

It is the first BlackBerry smartphone to support tri-band HSDPA high-speed networks around the world and comes with integrated GPS and Wi-Fi® (802.11 a/b/g). It features a lustrous black exterior, satin chrome finished frame and stylish leatherette backplate as well as a stunning display, sophisticated user interface and precision QWERTY keyboard.

The BlackBerry Curve 8900 smartphone packs a wide range of advanced communications and multimedia capabilities in the thinnest and lightest full-QWERTY BlackBerry smartphone yet. In addition to being an exceptional phone that offers easy access to email, messaging, organizer, web browser and multimedia applications, the new BlackBerry Curve 8900 smartphone features built-in Wi-Fi (802.11 b/g), GPS for location-based applications, Bluetooth® 2.0, a next generation processor (512MHz) and a dazzling hi-resolution display.

The BlackBerry Pearl 8120 smartphone features a comprehensive suite of rich communications and multimedia features in an impressively small and stylish design. It is a world phone (quad-band EDGE/GPRS/GSM) and includes Wi-Fi connectivity. The BlackBerry Pearl 8120 smartphone delivers an exceptional user experience through its trackball navigation system and RIM’s popular SureType® keyboard system, which enables a narrower handset design while maintaining easy phone dialing and message typing.

Orange CI is offering BlackBerry Enterprise Server for corporate customers and BlackBerry Internet Service for smaller businesses and individual users.

BlackBerry Enterprise Server is targeted specifically for organizations that manage their own email servers. The BlackBerry Enterprise Server software tightly integrates with IBM Lotus Domino, Microsoft Exchange and Novell GroupWise®, and uses advanced encryption and IT policy controls to enable secure, push-based wireless access to email and other corporate data. BlackBerry Internet Service allows users to access up to 10 supported corporate and personal email accounts, including popular ISP email accounts such as Yahoo! Mail and Google Mail from a BlackBerry smartphone.
