Vivicast Media and Digital Direct Networks Announce Major Move Into VOD Market

ViviCast Media and Digital Direct Networks announce a significant expansion of their ongoing partnership by adding hundreds of classic movies, series, action sports, and male-oriented, underground programming to their distribution pact. The expansion allows ViviCast Media to offer the entire DDN library on a VOD basis to cable operators, telcos, utilities, MDUs, and FTTH companies.

“We are thrilled to extend our relationship with DDN”, says Stuart Smitherman, Executive Vice President of ViviCast Media. “There has been a terrific response to DDN’s linear channels in the marketplace, and we feel that this huge VOD library will not only solidify ViviCast’s position as a significant distributor of a wide variety of product but will also be one of the keys to our continued success.”

John Wells, CEO of Digital Direct Networks, also praises the agreement. “ViviCast is a company that understands the value of our programming, and this expansion will increase both the audience and revenue potential for all of ViviCast’s operator partners as well as for our content owners. Consumers want choice, and by adding a VOD component to our agreement with ViviCast, we will be offering an exciting library of content that is available whenever viewers want it.”

The new VOD offerings from Vivicast will be composed of content from several of Digital Direct Networks’ existing linear channels, including “The Rogue Network”, “Wild World Xtreme”, “Films on Reel”, and “Men7”, among others. DDN’s full lineup of linear channels will continue to be available through Vivicast as well.

Both companies will be presenting the product to operators at Booth 1101 at the upcoming Telco TV conference in Orlando this November.
