Memory firm Kingston said it has introduced a range of memory modules for DDR-2 at 533MHz and 675MHz.
But they're going to be as rare as hen's teeth for a while, the firm said. Well actually it said in "limited quantities"The unbuffered HyperX DDR-2 modules come in capacities of up to 1GB, and Kingston said the actual speed will depend to some extent on the specifications of the motherboards used.
The firm said the modules will be selected for chips performing at the highest levels. The HyperX PC2-4300 (533MHz) are tested to latency timings of 3-3-3-10, while the PC2-5400 (675MHz) support low latency times of 4-4-4-10.
They operate at 1.85 volts. A 1GB 533MHz module will cost £252+VAT, while a 1GB 675MHz costs £235+VAT each for kits of two.
