XMOS, the leader in event-driven processors, today announced a global
distribution agreement with Digi-Key Corporation, one of the world’s
fastest growing distributors of electronic components.
XMOS’
complete range of event-driven processors and development boards are in
stock and ready to ship from Digi-Key. This includes XMOS’ new XS1-L1
chip targeted at the mass electronics market with a sub $5 price
point. The XS1-L family provides embedded software developers with an
energy-efficient, scalable, multi-core solution which enables them to
build complete systems combining interface, DSP and control functions
entirely in software.
James Foster, CEO at XMOS, said, “Digi-Key
plays a dominant role in serving design engineers and the prototyping
market, as well as a rapidly expanding role in supplying production
quantities for OEMs and contract manufacturers in the mass market. This
fits XMOS’ customer profile extremely well. Digi-Key will provide
XMOS with greater product exposure and access to an even larger
customer base. We are now able to better address the vast pool of
engineers across a broad range of markets who turn to Digi-Key for
immediate shipment and superb quality of service. We are very pleased
to be part of Digi-Key’s product line.”
“We are very pleased to
announce this new partnership with XMOS,” said Dave Doherty, vice
president of semiconductor products for Digi-Key. “We always have
opportunities on our line card for unique and innovative products that
are a good match for Digi-Key’s global customer base. We are certain
customers will appreciate having access to XMOS’ event-driven
processors through Digi-Key."
