Chinese wire Digitimes said that Intel will ship 100,000 Itanium 2s this year.
It quoted Taiwan supremo Kirk Skaugen as the source for the figure.
Which is odd. Because Intel consistently refuses to release data about which kind of chip, and how many it has sold.
AMD is similarly coy about facts and figures on individual chip shipments. One hundred OEMs use the Itanium, said Digitimes.
