UbiEst and Turkcell Announce Strategic Partnership Agreement for Off-Board GPS Navigation

UbiEst to provide mobile turn-by-turn directions and local content in Turkey

UbiEst is pleased to announce a new strategic partnership agreement with Turkcell, the leading communications and technology company in Turkey, for the "off board" GPS Navigation solution in the Turkish market. Turkey was the 7th most visited holiday destination in the world in 2008 with 26.5 millions travellers. International smartphone users travelling to Turkey can now receive turn-by-turn GPS-enabled voice and on-screen directions directly to their smartphones. Local service and content are provided by Turkish Navsme, using the industry leading global digital map from NAVTEQ.Voice navigation and geo naming are tailored to the customers and available in English, French, Spanish, Italian and German. In contrast to the traditional systems, Turkcell’s new service "off board" navigation offers automatic online access to the most recent updates of the cartographic data without occupying additional memory space. Features include the ability to mark waypoints or points of interest.
