The Japanese manufacturer of storage devices, IO Data has today
launched its first land burner Blu-ray external "slim", the BRP-US6,
specifically designed for laptop owners. Like other similar devices,
this compact recorder displays measurements barely larger than a disc,
137 mm wide and 154 mm in depth in this case, to a thickness of 20 mm
and weighing 330 grams .
It connects no surprise to the computer through a USB 2.0 connector,
and ignores the eSATA would have been welcome, however. He writes
Blu-ray Recordable (BD-R) 6x Blu-ray rewritable (BD-RE) at 4x, DVD-R, +
R and DVD + RW 8x, DVD-RW 6x, the DVD-R DL and + R DL at 4x, and
finally the CD-R and CD-RW respectively 16x and 24x.
One year warranty, it will be available in Japan. No launch date or
price have no time for summer releases for Europe but most of the IO
Data products are marketed.
