Activision announces PSP launch titles

Early adopters of Sony’s upcoming PSP will be swinging with Spider-Man and skating with Tony Hawk, Activision announced this week. The publisher confirmed in a press release that it does indeed intend to support the launch of the handheld system in the US with two games: Spider-Man 2, which is being developed by Shaba Games, and Tony Hawk’s Underground 2, which is being developed by Vicarious Visions.

“[The PSP] is an exciting new platform that combines processing power with a sleek new look that will appeal to an older demographic,” said Activision president Kathy Vrabeck. “By matching our top brands like Tony Hawk’s Underground 2 and Spider-Man 2 with the new entertainment device, we are able to broaden our consumer base and leverage our franchises into new areas.”
