PayPal, the popular payment method on auction site eBay Inc., has fixed the technical problems that had plagued the systems for almost a week, leaving many users unable to access their accounts or conduct business.
The site was fully restored as of Thursday afternoon, company officials said. The site first started experiencing problems Oct. 8 as the result of a software upgrade gone awry. Because some people were able to access accounts, while others couldn’t, the PayPal was unable to estimate the number of affected users.”PayPal functionality has been restored and PayPal users, on and off eBay, are able to resume normal trading activities,” the company said in a statement.
