Wireless alternative to DSL mooted

Netgear said it is planning to release stuff using a wireless technology that’s an alternative to DSL and cable Internet access.

The company is designing a boadband modem for use with a long-range wireless data service called Flash-OFDM.Flash-OFDM is being looked at by the mobile giants Nextel, T-Mobile and Vodafone. Netgear says its card would connect to Flash-OFDM with personal computers and networks using Ethernet or Wi-Fi technology.
