Intel wants everyone to know that even if Nvidia can't afford Dolby Digital, it sure can.

Intel said its "high end" 915/925 motherboards that use optical connectors support Dolby Digital Live. Intels like to call these boards "Premium" boards.Dolby Digital Live is actually a highly desired feature that Nvidia brought into market with its "Sound Storm" chipset and then disappeared it with its Nforce 3 and Nforce 4 chipset.

Dolby Digital Live is a way to connect your motherboard's integrated audio to 5.1 digital speakers or tuners/amplifiers and get the apparently highly desired 5.1 games audio on 5.1 loud speakers. Usually, non-Dolby digital live sound solution will only provide stereo trough their optical connector.
