Youtube adds slow-motion effect to videos

Google announced a new feature to its YouTube video platform offering a slow motion mode.

The popularity of a service often does not take much. Instagram has distinguished itself in the market of photography by proposing to extend the pre-configured filters. Two years later, the company was redeemed by Facebook for 1 billion.

The YouTube team could also generate more interest with a small innovation: the ability to easily add a slow motion effect to its video clips. The option is available in the video editor in the effects section accessible by opening a clip. It is possible to reduce the rate to 50%, 25% or 12.5%.

Eron Steger, an engineer at YouTube, said that this little novelty can be used to highlight certain scenes shot with a normal camera, such as sports events or any other experience.
