Gmail mobile applications have been updated to accommodate new inbox with categories.
Google released yesterday its Gmail application for iPhone/iPad. These applications are well aligned with the computer version of webmail.
We thus find four tabs of webmail form and four categories in the sidebar applications: main, social networks, promotions and notifications. Settings of notifications have been updated accordingly: Users can now easily choose not to be alerted of new promotional emails, for example. Users can also, for example, respond to an invitation to go directly from an email.
Gmail for iOS 2.3 is available since yesterday from the App Store here. Google has started the deployment of Gmail for Android 4.5 before as well, but it will take few weeks to make it accessible to all from the Play Store. But some websites have recovered the installation of APK file that is immediately available over here.
