Tumblr released Tuesday a critical update to its iOS application, following the discovery of a critical flaw that affects user accounts passwords.
“Please, download the update now” advises Tumblr in a blog post, published on Tuesday. Only the iOS version seems to be affected by a security problem, probably critical, the publisher does not details it, merely noted that “the passwords of some accounts have been compromised in some circumstances.” It is strongly recommended to change the password of Tumblr account if it has been administered via the iOS app available on iPad and iPhone.
“Tumblr has been informed of a vulnerability present in the iOS application. We immediately issued an update that fixes the problem, and we have informed the users. We obviously take these incidents very seriously and we deeply regret for this problem,” says the company.
