A new HTC Desire smartphone could make its appearance with a octacore MediaTek processor onboard and with bright colors cover.

Alongside the HTC One which is the spearhead of its offer range, the Taiwanese manufacturer continues to offer a Desire series device at a midrange level. With difficulties in maintaining to compete, this second range may become strategic to recover market share.

HTC executives have already mentioned this track to be able to bounce based on specific markets, such as China, for example. To achieve this, it was discussed the possibility of going through the use of MediaTek processors rather than Qualcomm partner for years in its device base.

And indeed, the rumors about a future HTC Desire smartphone series surfaces and gathers a bit of these speculations. The new device could carry a octacore MediaTek processor rather than Qualcomm Snapdragon, which is pointed out by ePrice website.

It could also benefit from a colorful covers, halfway between Nokia Lumia and iPhone Apple 5C plastic cover. The ePrice website refers to features with a display 5" 720p resolution, 1.5GB of RAM and an 8 megapixel digital camera with LED flash on the back.

The HTC Desire would use Android 4.3 Jelly Bean with HTC Sense 5.5 overlay and would be offered first in China for a price equivalent to $330/240€. It could be formalized for the MWC 2014 in Barcelona area.
