The OCZ Vertex offers Californian brand 460 SSD series, successor to its model Vertex SSD 450 that was released in late 2013.
Available in three capacities of 120, 240 and 480 GB with a 2.5-inch form factor proposed to 7 mm in maximum integration for mobile and fixed configurations, the Vertex 460 is based on a 3 Barefoot memory controller developed by Indilinx, subsidiary of OCZ from an acquisition in March 2011 for $32 million, and a NAND MLC etched 19 mm provided by Toshiba flash memory.
As for performance, it may flirt with 525 MB/s sequential write, 545 MB/s sequential read, the 30,000 IOPS 4K random write IOPS and 95,000 4K random read and for connection SATA III is used, of course.
In terms of security, it offers 256-bit AES encryption, thus targeting concerns about the confidentiality of their business data.
Accompanied by a manufacturer's warranty of three years with the backup solution Acronis True Image and possibly with a 3.5-inch adapter (as bundles), the Vertex 460 has not yet priced for the moment. Vertex 450 model was found from 90 euros.
