Western Digital introduces its hybrid storage solution that combines a Black 2 SSD 120GB and 1TB HDD.
Western Digital brand has unveiled a new hybrid storage device. Named Black 2 and referenced WD1001X06XDTL, it offers a 1 TB hard drive for storing user data and a space of 120 GB SSD to host the operating system, software and games. It guarantees a quick start and responsiveness, while providing ample of storage capacity for user data.
When connecting SATA 3, it offers transfer rates up to 140 MB/s sequential write and up to 350 MB/s sequential read. At 2.5 inches and 9.5 mm format, it may take place in fixed configurations such as mobile configurations.
Energy consumption does not exceed 1.8 watts in operation and 0.9 watts in standby or idle, while its noise does not exceed 21 dBA at activity and 20 dBA at rest.
Accompanied by a five years manufacturer warranty, the hybrid drive WD Black 2 comes with the backup solution of Acronis True Image data. This drive comes at a price of 236 euros.
