Microsoft opens pre-oder offers for Kinect v2 to the PC for $199 on July 15

Microsoft opens preorders to $199 for the second version of Kinect for Windows. Delivery scheduled is for mid-July for developers. General availability will occur by the end of the year.

For several countries including France, the Belgium and Switzerland, Microsoft is opening preorders of the second version of Kinect for Windows. These are for developers who are referred with a rate of $199 and a delivery date set for 15 July.

It is also at this time that Microsoft will release a beta Kinect SDK for Windows version 2.0 (SDK 2.0 Kinect for Windows). The Redmond company indicates that this second iteration of the sensor is designed for use with the SDK 2.0 and will be subject to a separate license.

Developers will be able to design their applications to the new sensor with C+ +, C# or Visual Studio Basic by using Microsoft Visual Studio 2010. Such applications can be found later in the Windows Store.

For general availability (marketing public), Microsoft suggests a few months after delivery of preorders for developers.

Recall that the Kinect v2 for Windows is very similar to that proposed with the gaming console Xbox One . It is equipped with a 1080p camera and improves 3D visualization and detection of the skeleton, can follow several points on the human body, or up to 25 points per person for six people simultaneously.

The voice recognition is capable of operating in a noisy environment and infrared technology allows use in the dark.
