Oppo to launch VR headset alongside N3 smartphone

The Oppo conference will present its new N3 smartphone with rotating camera sensor which could be an opportunity to discover a virtual reality headset.

On Wednesday, 29 October, in a little over a week, Oppo will hold a conference in which we should see several new products including the N3 smartphone with its famous rotary camera sensor to consider taking shots in 13 megapixels from the rear to the front. But it is also an opportunity for the Chinese manufacturer to present a virtual reality headset for the smartphone in the line of Gear VR goggles proposed by Samsung as an accessory for its Galaxy Note 4 phablet. Or the device Google Cardboard, which is to recall an origami cardboard.

In any case a picture posted suggests that on the social profile on Weibo – China's equivalent of Twitter – Oppo, where we see a young woman wearing a very likely future N3 equipped headset. Chinese firm could therefore adopt the same strategy as its South Korean competitor, an accessory for its flagship. Unless it decides to look more broadly by making it compatible with a wider range of smartphones. The second choice would seem wiser, knowing that Oppo will not use the same technology like Samsung. Whether the headphones will arrive or not, we will have to wait and see.
