Eastman Kodak updated its line of pocket high-definition camcorders, with the introduction of its first waterproof model—The Kodak PLAYSPORT Video Camera. This new camcorder’s ruggedized casing will allow it to travel to depths up to 10 feet of water to capture 1080p video at 30 frames per second.

The Kodak PLAYSPORT will offer a 2-inch LCD screen, run off a rechargeable Li-Ion battery, and include a HDMI out port for a simple digital connection to HDTV’s for playback. An HDMI cable will also be included. Video can be captured up to 1080p30 and features digital image stabilization. Along with the new pocket camcorder, Kodak introduced a few new digital cameras and a digital photo frame. The most unique of these new products have touchscreen LCDs—the Kodak SLICE Touchscreen Camera and KODAK PULSE Digital Frame.

Hence its name, the SLICE has a slim, efficient and stylish build. The entire back of the camera is fitted with a 3.5-inch touchscreen LCD. Its lens provides 5x optical zoom and its image sensor does 14-megapixel still image captures and 720p30 high-definition video capture. The KODAK SLICE will sell in April for $349 MSRP in black, nickel, and radish.

The Kodak PULSE Digital Frame will be equipped with a 7-inch (800 by 600 resolution) touchscreen LCD which will be backlit by an LED. This typically provides the display with a larger dynamic range when compared to traditional LCD’s backlit by CCFLs. Wi-Fi will also be included in the frame, users will be able to email photos directly to the frame. The PULSE will sell for $129.99 MSRP in April.
