AppWorks Inc, one of South Florida’s leading mobile application developers, is launching The Southernmost City Guide. This application is AppWork’s latest installment in a series of GPS travel guides for the iPhone and iPod Touch. The application will combine customized maps and GPS technology to help visitors and locals find Key West’s most treasured locations.
The Southernmost City Guide will be a free application and available from the Apple App Store. The application’s menus have been designed in an island theme to enhance visual appeal. The application boasts a self-guided walking tour for independent travelers exploring Key West’s historic Old Town district. The walking tour will guide users to various points of interest and provide them with history and background.
Key West is famous for its bars, so thirsty travelers may prefer to take advantage of the Southernmost Pub Crawl. With GPS technology, application users never get lost as they explore the island’s most famed drinking establishments, such as Captain Tony’s and Sloppy Joe’s.
The application will also give Key West businesses their first opportunity to engage mobile users seeking products and services. Users may search the business directory for specific types of business. They may choose to do a location-based search to locate businesses closest to their current location.
The application will launch Feb. 26. Key West businesses wishing to be listed in the application’s business directory should contact AppWorks by phone or e-mail before Feb. 1.
