The FreeBSD Foundation and Sun say they are patching up a row they had over the distribution of binaries for the Java runtime and the JDK. The Foundation claimed Sun had withdrawn its license for use with the FreeBSD open source operating system, and wanted to renegotiate terms.

News source: The Inquirer However it was keen to tell Infoworld that there was no bad blood between them and Sun. Sun is apparently unhappy about the way the product was distributed, something that the Foundation does not do.
Confusingly Sun denied that the licence has been repossessed. It said it was only in discussions with FreeBSD regarding the renewal of their license and will not say much more.
The foundation has had a licence since 2002 to distribute the Java technologies.
