Intel To Introduce Six-Core i7 970 Processor

Those of you planning to
build a new PC might want to hold off on starting until Q3 of this
year. That’s when Intel’s new six-core i7 970 processor is likely to
launch, according to Fudzilla.
This badass new processor will run at 3.2 GHz. That means 12
hyper-threading cores and QPI capable of 6.4 GB/s. With Turbo Boost,
you’ll be able to coax as much as 3.46 GHz out of this thing.

The
i7 970 supports 1066 DDR3 memory and draws 130W of power. If you want
to go with something a little beefier, the Core i7 980x is available
now and clocks in at 3.33 GHz.
