Thunderbird 3.1 Alpha release is now available

Team Mozilla Messaging announced the availability of a first alpha release for the next version of Thunderbird major. From its codename Lanikai, manager of e-mails now embarks on the Gecko rendering engine in version 1.9.2 (Thunderbird 3.0 uses Gecko 1.9.1.5) already built into Firefox 3.6.

The developers have made some improvements for IMAP accounts configured. Also note the correction of several bugs related to filter messages, managing attachments or files on the dynamics. Besides some cosmetic changes, Thunderbird 3.1a1 can also make better use of memory.
