Adobe has reader flaw

Unix users of its popular document reader software that it has a bug which could be exploited to seize control of a computer system.

According to the company website, the flaw affects only versions 5.0.9 and 5.0.10, which were written for the Unix operating system. Apparenly a hacker could exploit the security breach by emailing maliciously written PDF files.

Once these are opened, users would find that their hard drives were wide open to attack. Adobe has posted a fix for the vulnerability on its website. Apparently the bug was discovered by security outfit IDefense
