The last game of Quantic Dream will not be available in the UAE following the ruling by the United Arab Emirates NMC. The body responsible for validating media content such as video games and film banned the sale of Heavy Rain in the seven emirates.
No details were given regarding the prohibition of gambling on UAE territory and chances to know the precise reasons for this ban are slim. The title has a minimal visual violence, it is therefore unlikely that either side gore title that has displeased the National Media Council.
However, we note the presence of nudity, scenes that could have influenced officials. The UAE is yet known for their religious tolerance. Recent good games and have experienced a similar fate in Heavy Rain. We can cite among others Darksiders, Dante’s Inferno or God of War III which he received a ban much earlier.
