Zeus Technology, the only software-based application delivery controller
company, is enabling leading entertainment and communications company,
Virgin Media, to give customers a better online experience.
The solution ensures over 4 million Virgin Media customers receive fast
and available web and email services even during spikes in demand.
Virgin Media is also using Zeus to migrate users onto a new
function-rich email system, due for completion in the second quarter of
2010. The new email system has an easy-to-use interface with more
features and storage space than before.
Zeus was selected over competing hardware-based products for its
flexibility, ease of deployment and its ability to maintain 100 per cent
uptime. As Zeus provides a pure software solution, service levels can
be scaled up or down with very little effort.
Alex Brown, Senior Product Manager, Internet Products, Virgin Media,
says, "Virgin Media faced a number of technical challenges that Zeus has
helped us overcome. We wanted to offer customers better email and web
services but at the same time ensure we can deliver them without
impacting service levels or compromising security. Since we are dealing
with massive volumes of traffic, reliability and performance is of
paramount importance. The Zeus solution has risen to the challenge by
accelerating the email migration faultlessly to deliver better online
Paul Brennan, CEO, Zeus Technology, comments, "As the only quad-play
service provider in the UK, delivering superior service is Virgin
Media’s number one priority. Zeus is allowing the company to create and
manage exceptional web and email services that will help it drive market
share and maintain its reputation for industry excellence."
