Codewave Software Michael Descher is very pleased to announce that
MyTunesRSS has been successfully introduced at Jazz at Lincoln Center
(JALC) for digital music library sharing. MyTunesRSS was selected from
the pool of music sharing tools because of its advantageous features
and overall usability.
"MyTunesRSS has been invaluable to Jazz at Lincoln Center’s ability
to share its music," said Phil Cuykendall, Associate of Information
Technology at JALC. "It allows all of our employees to listen to the
music we have in our digital music library, whether they are in the
office or on the road, and its integration with Yoics also allows us to
share our MyTunesRSS library with teachers, students, or anyone else
working with our organization. Jazz at Lincoln center has over 100
users using different platforms (Mac OS X, Windows), and MyTunesRSS’
web-based platform-independent interface makes accessing the music
library easy.
Also, its MySQL database feature enables us to continue to build our
already large library (25,000 mp3s) without noticeable performance
degradation. Adding music to the music library as easy as ripping a CD
directly into ‘Watch Folders’ and waiting for automatically scheduled
updates, making library building simple. And despite our library’s
size, users have noted that MyTunessRSS’ very simple web interface and
great search features makes specific tracks or artists easy to find. In
short, MyTunesRSS’ combination of robust features and user-friendly
interface has made Jazz at Lincoln Center’s music library a success."
MyTunesRSS is a Media Server that makes iTunes libraries or simple
watch folders available on a local or corporate network, or even over
the internet. You can browse the complete music collection in a web
browser and even play music or videos right inside an embedded Flash
player.
MyTunesRSS can create RSS feeds and playlists from any album, artist
or search result. Depending upon their permissions, users can create
regular and smart playlists, add tags to the music collection, upload
new media files and use transcoders to convert music stored on the
server to other formats on-the-fly. The user authentication and
security management features LDAP integration, which protects the media
library from unauthorized access. Encrypted URLs make it easy to
restrict sharing to specific tracks or playlists and a remote API lets
programmers integrate MyTunesRSS into any existing application.
