Thiruvananthapuram gets 3G Mobile and Data Services by BSNL

State-owned Pan India 3G mobile service operator Bharat Sanchar Nigam Ltd (BSNL) today launches its much awaited 3G GSM mobile services in Thiruvananthapuram the state capital of Kerala. Earlier the BSNL 3G services was already launched in all the districts headquarters  of Kerala telecom circle except Thiruvananthapuram and Ernakulam SSA.

The 3G GSM mobile and broadband services inaugurate by Minister of State for External Affairs Shashi Tharoor. The commercial 3G service is now available to all BSNL Postpaid and Prepaid subscribers of Thiruvananthapuram. The existing BSNL 2G mobile subscriber can migrate to 3G service just by one SMS “M3G120” to 53733.The new 3G subscribers will get 50 free video calls and 25 MB Data usage as an welcome gift.

According to the operators announcement the 3G UMTS Network coverage would be available in the 3G enable 185 BTS (Mobile Towers) areas from Attingal in the north to Neyyattinkara.

The new subscriber can buy BSNL 3G Prepaid connections at just Rs.59. This starter pack contents U-SIM (3G Sim card), after the activations of 3G SIM card the customer has to recharge with the FRC-120 for the desired 3G tariff plan which provides the lowest tariff for voice, video calls and Data usage. After recharging with the 3G FRC-120, users can enjoy Local Voice and Video calls at just 30 Paisa per minute and All STD video calls will be chargeable at 50 paisa.
