RealNetworks, Inc., the digital entertainment
services company, has been selected by MetroPCS Communications, Inc.,
the fifth largest facilities-based wireless carrier in the United
States, to power MetroPCS’ new MetroMusic Store currently scheduled to
launch in the second half of this year.
Real’s Media Entertainment Platform, which will be used to
power MetroMusic, provides wireless carriers with a branded, managed
end-to-end solution, making it easy for subscribers to find, play and
manage their digital content. Real provides ongoing administration and
marketing support based on years of experience deploying and managing
operators’ entertainment services around the world.
