New Dell Lightning Smartphone with Windows 7

If Dell has several projects underway Android smartphone, it could also its first smartphone Phone Windows 7 by the end of the year, as the smartphone Dell Lightning.

After leaving the PDA market in 2006 not communicating after several series of Pocket PC manufacturer Dell could return to his first love, this time with a smartphone running Windows Phone 7.  Engadget suggests the presence of Dell Lightning, a terminal with sliding full keyboard, display 4.1 "OLED Display and 800 x 480 pixels that would board a Qualcomm processor SnapDragon 1 GHz with 512 MB RAM, 1 GB of ROM and a microSD memory card slot.


  • On the back, the Dell Lightning has a 5 megapixel digital camera and the device has the connectivity WiFi, Bluetooth, FM radio and a GPS receiver with electronic compass. It also benefits from an accelerometer and support of Flash technology.
  • This is a terminal GSM / GPRS / EDGE and triband UMTS / HSDPA 7.2Mbps / HSUPA 5.76 Mbps dimensions of 121 x 64 x 14.9 mm, which could benefit from upgrading to LTE ( Long Term Evolution) by the end of 2011.

The Dell Lightning could be initially offered from operators AT & T and T-Mobile USA by the end of 2010. It would be the first appearance of a Dell smartphone not running Android.
