HP Will Deliver Desktop, Laptop And Netbook PCs With Norton Internet Security

Symantec Corp. today announced the signing of a
multi-year extension to its existing contract with HP, the world’s
largest PC manufacturer. Under the terms of the agreement, HP consumer
desktop, laptop and netbook PCs will ship worldwide with a
full-featured, complimentary 60-day subscription of Norton Internet
Security, the industry’s fastest, lightest security suite.

Norton Internet Security detects and eliminates online threats and
prevents cybercriminals from stealing consumers’ identity and
hard-earned cash, so they can surf, shop, and bank online safely. Norton
Internet Security also features the industry leading reputation-based
security technology, which has been proven to attain unmatched detection
of new malware far beyond what is possible with traditional security
technologies.

“We are pleased to continue our long-standing relationship with HP by
providing our award-winning Norton products and quality online services
to their desktop, laptop and netbook PC customers,” said Janice
Chaffin, group president, Consumer Business Unit, Symantec. “Through our
valued partnership with HP, we are helping to keep consumers safe from
cybercrime by offering superior online protection to millions of
worldwide users straight from set-up.”

“HP customers recognize Norton as a world leader in security
solutions for PCs,” said Jason Zajac, vice president, Attach Business
Unit, Personal Systems Group, HP. “We believe customers will appreciate
HP having pre-installed subscriptions to Norton Internet Security on PCs
so they can get instant protection from online threats without having
to download software.”
