Dell today announced a comprehensive security solution portfolio
for midsized businesses and organizations that integrates industry
leading technology, products, security management tools and services to
help customers protect their IT infrastructure and most precious
asset—data.
“Security is one of the most pressing IT issues
businesses face today. It is difficult and increasingly complex for
midsize businesses to assemble the resources to protect against the
numerous security threats they face—a data breach through the network,
data leakage by employees, malware attacks or lost laptops,” said Steve
Felice, president, Dell consumer, small and medium business. “Dell has
entered the security space and done the work for our customers. The
result is our comprehensive approach to security that helps protect
against attacks via the network or endpoints like laptops and smart
phones, and provides a full range of security services.”
According
to Gartner’s Jim Browning, “Given the still struggling economy, small
and medium businesses have been slower to make new security investments,
but the investments they are making have been focused on consolidating
vendors and streamlining security processes, thus making the
multifunction security platform a logical choice.”
As
part of its comprehensive security solution, Dell and Juniper Networks
announced today plans for an expansion of their agreement to develop
additional SMB focused Unified Threat Management features and network
security appliances, adding to the existing J-SRX Services Gateway
portfolio that sets the standard for on-premise network security. The
complete portfolio is available starting today as the Dell J-SRX
Services Gateway Series.
Also announced today, Dell and
SecureWorks, Inc., a leading global provider of information security
services, have established an partnership to provide a full range of
information security services that help customers identify, monitor and
manage security risks and compliance needs. The services will be
available by the end of the year.
“Security threats and
vulnerabilities have dramatically increased in recent years and
organizations need to first understand what security means for their
business and what data is at risk for attack,” said Peter Adams, vice
president of customer solutions for Lighthouse Information Systems. "A
comprehensive approach including services eliminates IT maintenance,
lowers cost and allows business owners to focus on business, not IT.”
