Transcend Information, Inc. today proudly announced that its StoreJet 35T external hard drive has received a “Gut” (good) rating in a 15-way 3.5-inch external hard drive shootout review by the renowned German test institute “Stiftung Warentest.” The StoreJet 35T received an overall quality rating of 2.2 (on a scale of 1.0–5.5, 1 being perfect) with “good” results in the sub-categories of Performance (2.2) and Durability (1.6), as well as a “good” mark for its environmental friendliness (2.5).
In Stiftung Warentest’s latest roundup of 1TB 3.5-inch external hard drives, published in the 08/2010 print edition on page 43ff, Transcend’s StoreJet 35T outperformed competing products and received a “good (2.2)” score in the “performance” category by offering unprecedented transfer speeds. The drive was especially praised for its use of USB optimization software that effectively increases USB read/write throughput. According to Stiftung Warentest, the StoreJet 35T also stands the test of endurance, whereby the drive is so well manufactured that it hardly produces noise, vibrations or heat.
