MSI’s Beat it! World Champion Challenge scheduled from 4-6 September

The finals of MSI’s Beat it! World Champion Challenge is just around the corner as 12 of the planet’s best teams prepare to do battle. Each member of the winning team will not only receive an MSI GT660 laptop designed specifically with the gamer in mind, the winners of the CS competition will walk away with US$15,000.

The final stage of the MSI Beat it! World Champion Challenge is scheduled to take place in Beijing from 4-6 September. After the smoke cleared following almost three months of white hot battles, only 12 teams remain standing, including Fnatic, the European team that has been the world champion in CS and WC3 several years running, and the Evil Geniuses, the American team that won the CS championship last year in the US. 12 teams will be going toe-to-toe in the finals and the winning team in the CS contest will not only receive US$15,000, each team member will receive a GT660 NB, the latest and baddest addition to MSI’s G series.

The MSI Beat it! World Champion Challenge is open to everyone regardless of age, gender, nationality, or where they are in the world. All teams in this competition use MSI’s GT/GX660 laptops. For its part, the GT660 packs Intel’s most powerful Core i7 processor and nVidia’s best GeForce GTX 285M discrete graphics card (w/ 1GB GDDR3 of display memory) and MSI’s own TED+ Turbo Boost technology to throttle up system and graphics card performance at the touch of a button, vastly enhancing overall system performance and image processing capabilities.

12 teams will battle it out in the Beat it! Competition. In addition to Europe’s Fnatic and the Evil Geniuses from the US, other teams include Sweden’s H2k, WMF from South Korea, Complexity from America, India’s ATE, 1st.VN of Vietnam, and Australia’s Immunity.

For its part, ATE is not only India’s top CS team, it beat out over 100 teams to snatch the BYOC championship. Then there’s H2k from Sweden which showed what it’s made of by trouncing more than 200 teams in the Beat it! contest. And South Korea’s WMF is considered Asia’s best CS team. These world-class gaming teams will be gathering in Beijing to fight for the title. With this in mind, MSI asked Stuart from QuadV, the world-renowned online video game broadcaster and commentary team, to host the upcoming competition.
