Toshiba Introduces the First Ever LED TV with integrated Battery Backup
Launches its first 3D LED TV series for Indian market along with 10 new flat panel TVs across 3 LED-LCD TV families.
Toshiba, a global leader in advanced technology, today revolutionized the LCD TV market in India with the launch of the world's first LED TVs with integrated battery back-up. In addition, the company also launched a flagship LED TV and its first ever 3D LED TV for the Indian market, strengthening its existing line-up of flat panel TVs with the addition of 10 new models across LED & LCD technologies.
States Mr. Shigenori Tokumitsu, Vice President, Visual Products Company, Toshiba Corporation, "India is a key strategic market for us, and with these technologically advanced products, especially the POWER TV range of flat panel TVs specifically designed to meet the needs and demands of the Indian market and our new Flagship LED model, we are looking to enhance our market leadership position in India as well."
The new product launches will be well complemented by a 360 degree marketing campaign involving ATL & BTL promotions. The company will be leveraging its association with Master Blaster Sachin Tendulkar to promote the new range additions, expecting that synchronization of Sachin's uncompromising effort and Toshiba's philosophy of developing technology will move peoples' hearts.
"The global LCD TV market is expected to grow strongly in the coming years, and in particular, the Indian LCD TV market will see a phenomenal growth, with an annual growth rate of 68 percent from FY2009 to FY2013. Toshiba aims to achieve 5% market share in FY2011 and 10% market share in FY2013," says Mr. Tokumitsu.
Toshiba Power TV – Specially designed for the needs of the Indian Market:
The Power TV family will launch with three series: PC 1 LED TVs, offering 24- and 32-inch models, the world's first LED TV models with integrated back-up batteries; the PS 1 series of LED TVs, offering 24-, 32- and 40-inch models, all designed to maximize power saving; and the PB 1 cold cathode fluorescent backlit LCD TVs, offering 24- and 32-inch models. The PC 1 series are the world's first TVs to integrate a stand-by rechargeable battery, a useful innovation in areas where power supply can be uncertain. Fully charged, the battery can power a TV for 2 hours.
All Power TVs feature Toshiba's proprietary "Power Meta Brain", an image processing engine that integrates advanced technologies to ensure crisp, high resolution image with true-to-life colors. The high power 20W speaker pumps out natural and vibrant sound. The Power TV series also boast an advanced feature "Auto Signal Booster" that improves signal sensitivity and allows viewing in areas with weak signal strengths.
All models are designed to reduce running costs by lowering power consumption. A key aspect of this is "AutoView", which monitors room brightness and adjusts the backlight and various picture parameters accordingly. It also continually analyzes image lightness and darkness, adjusting it to maintain maximum contrast.
