CHIP FIRM Intel has paid $70 million in cash and shares for Zarlink’s radio frequency Front End Consumer Business. t’s Intel UK that’s done this – that’s a new one for us.
The Zarlink unit develops demodulatr tuner technologies for digital TVs, with that particular unit generating revenues of $53 million in 2005.
Intel said it had bought the unit as part of a suite of products relating to Intel’s consumer electronics designs.
