Nvidia kicked off this quite busy week by announcing the arrival in China of the first 500M series discrete graphics card, the GeForce GT 540M. Available in Acer notebooks, the card features 96 CUDA Cores, a 128-bit memory interface and up to 1.5GB of GDDR5 or DDR3 VRAM (apparently).
The GT 540M has GPU, shader and memory clocks of 672, 1344 and up to 900 MHz, respectively, and includes support for DirectX 11, CUDA, PhysX, 3D Vision, and the Optimus technology.
According to Nvidia, mobile PCs equipped with this new card will go global next month.
