iOS 4.3 is scheduled to launch on March 11, the same day the iPad 2 will become physically available in the United States. Touted by Apple as “the latest version of the world’s most advanced mobile operating system”, iOS 4.3 offers a faster web browsing experience thanks to the Nitro JavaScript engine used in the mobile version of Safari.
The update also brings iTunes Home Sharing, enhancements to AirPlay, the ability to choose the function of the iPad’s hardware switch (mute sound or lock orientation), and the Personal Hotspot feature for sharing a cellular data connection over Wi-Fi using GSM iPhones.
iOS 4.3 will be a free software update for iPhone, iPod touch and iPad users.
